Thank you, Adams County, for your vote and for allowing me the honor of serving as your Sheriff from January 2023 through January 2027. I am truly grateful for your trust, and I look forward to earning your support again in November 2026. As your Sheriff in 2027 and beyond, we will continue building the Adams County Sheriff’s Office into a leader in public service, policing, training, and technology.

 

The past three years have been overwhelmingly positive as we have reconnected with our community and strengthened relationships throughout and beyond Adams County. My focus remains on providing a law enforcement agency that is responsive to the needs of our residents by working closely with community members, business owners, city officials, police departments, and county offices. Together, we are addressing crime prevention, mental health, homelessness, drug abuse, and other challenges through collaboration and problem-solving. We are committed to rebuilding partnerships with local mental health providers who understand Adams County and the citizens we serve. A key component of this effort is our work toward opening an Adams County mental health detox center.

 

Within our Detention Facility, we will continue working with Adams County Facilities to maintain a safe and secure environment while completing millions of dollars in necessary repairs. I will continue collaborating with our county commissioners and other stakeholders to determine whether a major remodel—adding the required square footage—or a newly constructed facility is the best option. Any outcome must support best practices, current laws, jail standards, and ADA requirements, with voter support. We will also continue fighting to reduce recidivism through pre-release programming, re-entry services, educational opportunities, and addiction treatment both inside the facility and after release. These efforts will include ongoing partnerships with community members, local businesses, and government leaders to build programs that help returning community members access employment, affordable housing, and transportation—key steps in reducing homelessness and promoting long-term stability.

 

Our goal is to maintain a proactive Sheriff’s Office that enhances the law enforcement experience and meets our community’s expectations. I remain committed to developing evidence-based policing strategies and fostering an inclusive environment built on trust, ethics, transparency, and strong moral values. This approach supports our agencies, cities, schools, and neighborhoods in developing safer communities. I will continue building relationships that strengthen leadership and enhance public safety throughout Adams County. Working alongside elected officials, community groups, and professionals, we will maintain a credible, solutions-focused partnership that supports the needs of our residents.

 

To help achieve these goals, I am proud to announce that Kevin Currier will serve as Undersheriff during my administration. Kevin is a 30-year veteran of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and has served in numerous assignments and ranks throughout his career. He was promoted from Detective Division Chief to Undersheriff in October 2025, where he has demonstrated strong leadership and dedication to the agency. I look forward to our continued work together as we restore community trust, strengthen transparency, and build stronger, safer communities for all.
